SVED
Style Archive
What is the SVED
Style Archive?
Clothing is one of the most significant forms of material culture. It documents identity, creativity, craftsmanship, memory and the everyday lives of the people who wear it (history, trends, politics etc)
The SVED Style Archive is a curated collection of significant garments and the stories they carry. It exists to preserve the cultural, creative and personal histories held within clothing.
The archive explores the relationship between clothing, identity, memory and culture. Every piece is selected because it represents something worth preserving, whether through exceptional exceptional design, personal significance, cultural impact, historical context or the life it has lived.
Some garments become part of the permanent archive. Others continue their story through carefully curated sales, exhibitions and auctions.
If you have significant pieces in your wardrobe and are unsure where to begin, contact SVED for a conversation.
Kate Miller-Heidke Collection
The SVED Style Archive is officially launching with the auction of more than fifty significant garments from Kate Miller-Heidke's personal wardrobe, collected and worn across two decades of performances, recordings, media appearances and public life.
Together, the collection documents the evolution of one of Australia's most distinctive creative careers through the garments worn on stage, on screen and in public life.
Each piece has been individually selected, researched and catalogued as part of an ongoing project exploring the relationship between clothing, creativity and performance.
Every successful bidder will receive a Certificate of Authenticity documenting the garment's provenance within the collection.
The development of the SVED Style Archive is currently being documented by award-winning filmmaker Lucy Paplinska.

SVED's
StoryFor as long as she can remember, Anna has collected vintage, designer and culturally significant clothing.
In 2013 she started selling her collection under the name Volcano Vintage, building a reputation for sourcing distinctive garments with exceptional craftsmanship, character and history. Over time, that work evolved beyond vintage retail into a deeper interest in the stories clothing carries and the role garments play in documenting people's lives.
The SVED Style Archive is the evolution of that work. It brings together Anna's lifelong interest in fashion history, storytelling and material culture, recognising that clothing is more than something we wear. It is evidence of who we were, what we valued and how we moved through the world.
You can shop Anna’s curated collection in person on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy.
