on winning, pacing gratitude and grace
Hello,
So much has been happening behind the scenes that I’m excited to share.
The Update
WINNINGThis time last week I was awarded the 2026 Australian Style Institute Personal Styling Excellence Award.
I ugly cried at the awards event for all the things this symbolised for me, for SVED and for my clients. It was recognition that a client-centred approach to styling, with depth, really matters. Read what the judges had to say here.
GRATITUDEWhile putting together my portfolio for the industry judging panel, I asked clients to complete an experience survey.
The time, thought and generosity you put into your responses was unbelievably touching. Your words became a huge part of showing the work beyond clothes.
Thank you to every single one of you who responded. SERIOUSLY. Thank you!
GRACEThis is also where I ask for a little grace.
Far out...running a business is BIG. And I am BUSY, which is of course excellent, but I am also cringing at the number of emails and personalised thank-yous I have written in my head that haven’t made it into your actual inboxes.
I’m in that funny period of business growth where I’m doing everything...and then some. And I have what seems like about ten seconds of desk time per week. Busy isn’t always good. As somebody who crashed and burned quite royally two years ago, I’m trying to be a bit more of a cool cucumber and create something far more sustainable, kind and gentle in the long term.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I look forward to the day I can hire some extra hands!
For now, I’m asking for your grace while giving myself a little grace too. And while I’m at it, if there is something you know you need to give yourself grace for, take this as your cue.
The Insight
PACINGThis leads me to pacing.
One of the biggest things I’ve been thinking about and tweaking over the last few months is the pacing of sessions.
I now have a number of clients I see weekly or fortnightly over a longer period, rather than trying to do everything in one intensive day or package.
Slowing things down has been amazing. It gives us space to work through a wardrobe properly, but more importantly, it gives changes time to embed between sessions.
More intensive isn’t always more effective.
And that learning is changing how you can work with SVED.
The Changes
WARDROBE RESETThe Wardrobe RESET now has two pacing options.
Full Day: Up to six hours together in one day, with an hour break to eat, refresh and reset.
Split Session: Up to six hours split across two sessions.
If you already have a 5-hour Wardrobe RESET gift certificate valued at $890, you can choose either format at no extra cost.
NEW SESSION: WARDROBE GOALSI’m very excited to have added Wardrobe GOALS.
This is for clients who have a bigger life or work goal, a bigger wardrobe to work through, or simply want to make changes at a slower, more regular pace.
It combines styling, wardrobe work, systems and coaching through weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions.
SHOPPINGI’ve removed packages!
If you want to shop, you can simply book a shopping session after your Wardrobe RESET.
There are a few reasons for this, but the biggest is something I see all the time. People often come to me wanting to shop. I always recommend starting with the Wardrobe RESET because this is where we get to the heart of what you have and what you actually need. Often, clients discover they don’t need to shop at all, or feel equipped to go it alone with the insights they’ve gained from their wardrobe session.
NDISI’ve also been working with self-managed NDIS participants over the last couple of months. Interestingly, this work and Wardrobe GOALS have a lot in common. Both allow us to work towards practical goals over time, at a pace that works for the individual.
